If you're passionate about solving complex technical challenges at global scale and shaping the future of platform engineering, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact that reaches millions every day.

About Team

About GTP PMO Team: GTP PMO acts as an accelerator to the execution engine within the org. From internal deliverables across several teams, managing risks and dependencies to meet the timelines and managing the heavy lifts of program adoption across Global Tech. The team is well regarded for its bias for execution, thinking and automation of frameworks, building relationships and managing complex technology deliveries. The technical program managers get a taste of several technology domains, a peer group which is extremely supportive and collaborative and a team culture which practices Walmart values everyday.

What you'll do...
  • Program Goals & Planning: Defines goals, deliverables, schedules, and critical paths for managing multiple medium- to high-complexity programs in alignment with overall strategic objectives and shifting priorities.

  • Dependency & Commitment Management: Independently secures commitment from teams involved and manages dependencies within your assigned area of work.

  • Technical Design Translation: Independently clarifies requirements with engineering teams and translates product feature needs into robust technical designs across applications, platforms, infrastructure, and security.

  • Technical Oversight & Best Practices: Manages design, architecture, and tradeoffs with engineering teams to ensure effective SRE frameworks (observability, monitoring, pre-production checklists, alerting) and roll-forward/roll-back plans are applied.

  • Ambiguity & Conflict Resolution: Resolves ambiguous situations and brings clarity to program teams on end-to-end technology solutions. Aligns stakeholders during and after setbacks, blockers, and obstacles.

  • Proactive Governance: Tracks multiple projects against approved milestones, quality metrics, and budgets. Negotiates against timelines, resources, and priorities to secure commitments.

  • Analytical Problem Solving: Maps deliverables to program success metrics. Synthesizes data from multiple perspective (engineering excellence, product analytics, program success) into actionable insights and suggests alternative solutions.

  • Influential Communication: Prepares concise, logically structured reports/materials and communicates complex technical information clearly to large and diverse audiences.

What you'll bring
  • Proven Program Expertise: Demonstrated experience in planning, execution, and risk mitigation for medium to high-complexity initiatives.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven record of coordinating cross-functional dependencies and building relationships.

  • In-depth SDLC & Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid understanding of Agile methodology, system design concepts, APIs, cloud computing, and hardware/software lifecycles (EOL, upgrades, migrations).

  • Fact-Based Decisions: Ability to analyze data and use fact-finding techniques to improve processes and deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Leadership & Mentoring: Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing team members while promoting ethical standards and operational excellence.

Required Knowledge
  • Program management techniques, tools, benefits analysis, and communication processes.
  • System/platform design components, cloud computing, and Site Reliability Engineering concepts.
  • Stakeholder identification, engagement strategy, and relationship management techniques.
  • Techniques to manage conflicting stakeholder priorities and ambiguity.
Progression of Proficiency Expectation
  • Independently builds relationships and aligns stakeholders on roles, responsibilities, and cadences at various stages of program execution. Ensures that all dependent teams and stakeholders have an accurate and thorough understanding of goals, timelines, and deliverables, while successfully guiding teams through changing landscapes.
