This role requires expertise in program planning, technical design, and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-quality outcomes within resource and timeline constraints. The manager proactively identifies risks, streamlines processes, and mentors teams to enhance performance. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential to influence alignment and ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives across multiple domains, fostering continuous improvement and innovation in a dynamic environment.

The Tech Strategy team drives Walmart’s global technology vision by delivering data-driven insights and comprehensive portfolio governance. This team excels in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and technology enablement to create scalable solutions with measurable business impact. Focused on clear communication, goal setting, and continuous improvement, the team advances technology initiatives worldwide. Members apply expertise in program management, quantitative analysis, and performance management to foster innovation and operational excellence across complex programs, ensuring successful execution and alignment of technology strategies on a global scale.

What you’ll do
  • Define and manage large-scale program goals, stage gates, and key deliverables across multiple teams and timelines.
  • Lead end-to-end design, ensuring alignment with business objectives and system scalability.
  • Identify and resolve cross-functional dependencies, risks, and ambiguities to maintain program momentum.
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance engineering efficiency and delivery velocity.
  • Engage stakeholders to secure alignment, communicate progress, and facilitate decision-making.
  • Monitor program performance, manage budgets, and adjust plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Mentor team members on best practices in program management, technical design, and communication.
What you’ll bring
  • Extensive experience in program and project management, including planning, risk mitigation, and resource alignment for large-scale technical initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder engagement, and drive consensus across complex programs.
  • Strong technical expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, software lifecycle, and emerging technologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and fact-based decision-making to define success metrics and optimize program outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence, align, and mentor teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated capability to implement process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency.

Bentonville, Arkansas US‑09158: The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00

Bellevue, Washington US‑11663: The annual salary range for this position is $156,000.00 - $312,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
  • Option 2: 9 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications

Certification in Project Management., Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 5 years’ experience in product design., We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
