Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Staff Technical Lead to define strategy for Storage, Caching, and Identity infrastructure. You will lead multi-quarter initiatives, design and operate distributed systems across AWS and GCP, and improve reliability, performance, and developer experience at scale.

This hands-on leadership role requires mentoring engineers, shaping platform direction, and guiding cross-functional teams toward scalable, AI-enabled infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 9+ years in software development; or 8+ with Master’s or 5+ with PhD.
• Experience leading architecture direction beyond a single team.
• Experience building and operating backend distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-quarter and multi-year roadmaps for service infrastructure.
• Design, build, and operate foundational backend infrastructure.
• Act as hands-on staff-level tech lead, guiding high-impact initiatives from concept to rollout.
• Partner with infrastructure and product teams to align on long-term platform investments.
• Improve developer/operator experience and raise engineering velocity at scale.
• Drive reliability, observability, incident response, performance, and cost efficiency.
