Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Staff Technical Lead to define strategy and technical direction for Storage, Caching, and Identity infrastructure.

The role blends hands-on engineering with leadership, driving multi-quarter initiatives, architecture across critical services, and mentoring engineers to improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity. You will shape infrastructure for an AI-first world, collaborate with senior leaders, and influence platform investments across backend services

Qualifications

>9+ years of software development experience or advanced degrees with comparable experience.
>Experience leading architecture or platform direction beyond a single team.
>Experience building and operating backend systems or distributed systems in production environments.
>Experience influencing cross-functional initiatives and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

>Define multi-quarter and multi-year roadmaps for service infrastructure including mesh, compute, and observability.
>Design, build, and operate foundational backend infrastructure powering critical Snap services.
>Act as hands-on Staff-level tech lead from concept to architecture and rollout.
>Mentor engineers and collaborate with infra and product teams to align direction.
>Improve developer/operator experience and drive reliability and cost efficiency.
