Mainspring Energy seeks a Staff Technical Program Manager for Software Engineering in Menlo Park. You translate strategy into fast, reliable software delivery, bridging hardware cycles with agile software workstreams.

You will drive execution, resolve trade-offs, and hold teams accountable to ambitious company goals while collaborating with DevOps and release teams to ensure fleet readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 10+ years in technical program management for hardware/software environments.
• Ability to adjudicate priority across electrical, software, and controls domains.
• Experience delivering products through full SDLC with market readiness.
• Single point of accountability for delivery decisions and exec reporting.
• Proven change agent with process improvements to speed time-to-market.
• Exceptional communication at both roadmap and detailed engineering levels.
• Experience partnering with DevOps/Release Management for deployment readiness.
• Strong familiarity with software processes and project tools (Gantt, Smartsheet, Jira).
• Track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects with clarity.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end program from concept to validation readiness with schedules.
• Define milestones, mitigate risks, and manage budgets across teams.
• Institute scalable engineering workflows and triage bugs with leadership.
• Coordinate cross-functional priorities across firmware, controls, hardware.
• Provide data-driven program health reports and executive insights.
• Ensure seamless hand-off to deployment via DevOps and release teams.
