Mainspring Energy, a leader in fuel-flexible, low-emissions local power solutions, seeks an experienced embedded software leader to guide a skilled team. You will oversee the full lifecycle of software for our revolutionary linear generator platform, collaborating with product, QA, and executives to align technical goals with business strategy.

Hybrid onsite/remote work at our Menlo Park HQ supports flexible collaboration.

Qualifications

12+ years embedded software development experience, with project management experience delivering a commercial product.
Strong background in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban project management frameworks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership: supervise, mentor, and guide a team of software engineers with regular one-on-ones and reviews.
Project Management: oversee the full software development lifecycle, set milestones, manage timelines, remove roadblocks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: align technical goals with product managers, executives, and QA teams.
Technical Guidance: provide high-level architectural and technical feedback during design reviews.
