Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Field Service Programs & Operations Engineer to lead field service programs and translate field challenges into practical solutions. You will work with Field Service, Operations, Quality, and Engineering to improve fleet availability and maintenance practices.

The role is field-facing and hands-on, requiring collaboration with technicians, supervisors, and managers to support advanced troubleshooting and special projects across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
• 8+ years of Field Service, power generation, O&M, or related technical environment.
• Experience troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
• Experience working with field technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Experience developing technical procedures, tooling, or field solutions.
• Strong project planning, coordination, and execution skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Willingness to work hands-on in field environments; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Field Service programs, procedures, and processes to improve maintenance execution and fleet reliability.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, controls, and system-level issues.
• Bridge Field Service and Engineering by translating field issues into engineering requirements.
• Develop field service tooling, fixtures, and test equipment to boost safety and efficiency.
• Lead and support fleet retrofit projects, service campaigns, and major maintenance initiatives.
• Analyze field failures and fleet performance to identify recurring issues and improvements.
• Create and improve maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with Reliability, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Safety, and Field Service leadership.
• Mentor field technicians and supervisors; provide technical guidance.
• Travel to customer sites and participate in field activities as needed.
