Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the YouTube Premium Acquisition team to own multi-quarter technical direction and system architecture. You will balance feature velocity with reliability across backend, ML models, and frontends, while mentoring engineers to maintain architectural quality.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to define roadmaps, drive implementation, and propel subscriber growth for YouTube Premium in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 8 years of experience in large-scale software design, system architecture, and technical leadership.
• 3 years of experience as a tech lead guiding engineering teams and defining architectural roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Set multi-quarter technical direction and architecture, balancing feature velocity and business OKRs with technical evolution.
• Lead engineering efforts across the full technology stack—from backend to ML models to web frontends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define product roadmaps and drive implementation.
• Iterate on product features, run A/B experiments, and launch scalable capabilities for subscriber growth.
• Provide mentorship and architectural guidance to engineers, promoting best practices.
