Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Staff Systems Engineer to join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) team, supporting the GBSD program with potential locations in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT.

The role requires strong leadership, systems integration expertise, and delivery of engineering artifacts while collaborating with external stakeholders. U.S. Citizenship and a Secret clearance are required; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience; or Master's with 10+ years; or PhD with 8+ years.
US Citizenship with an active US Government Secret Clearance, current within the last 6 years.
Ability to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance.
10+ years Experience with Agile and working in a cross-functional Scrum teams.
10+ years Experience with Product Owner and Product Manager core responsibilities.
4+ years experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) OR complex aerospace/defense systems.
2+ years experience on large scale / complex system development across multiple phases of a development program.
Experience with Systems Engineering program milestone events (e.g., PDR, CDR).
Experience working with DoD contracts and/or large supplier management portfolio.

Responsibilities

Lead Integration activities in support of systems-of-systems integration including test planning and issue reporting.
Demonstrate leadership principles – Integrity, respect, organizational, communication, etc.
Develop key system engineering artifacts such as requirement specifications and interface definition documents.
Coordinate between SEIT and other integration teams.
Participate in technical planning, verification and validation development, cost and risk considerations.
Identify risks and opportunities associated with design, systems, or analysis factors.
Collaborate and communicate with multi-functional teams and all collaborators.
Provide guidance and mentoring to teams during project execution.
Work independently with minimum supervision and high ethical standards.
