Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a T05 Staff Systems Engineer – Ionizing Radiation in Melbourne, FL. The role drives ionizing radiation hardening across design, analysis, and verification activities for a survivable weapon system.

DoD clearance is required, with travel up to 20% to support program success. Responsibilities include developing DARs, test plans, and defense-grade analyses, interfacing with DoD customers, and ensuring compliance with nuclear survivability requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 12+ years in engineering; OR Master with 10+ years; OR PhD with 7+ years.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain interim Top Secret.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Experience with nuclear weapons effects and radiation environments.
• Strong design analysis, modeling and test experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Ionizing Radiation hardening efforts across development phases.
• Develop system-level NH&S design analysis reports and test plans.
• Generate design criteria supported by analysis, modeling and test artifacts.
• Prepare and present nuclear survivability artifacts for requirements compliance.
• Collaborate with DoD customers and cross-functional teams.
