Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for our San Diego, CA location to lead MBSE and systems integration across large programs. You will function as a cross-IPT integrator, drive architecture content, and ensure requirements traceability in a dynamic defense environment.

The role requires strong communication and system engineering expertise, DoD program exposure, and active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Software, or related STEM field with 12 years of experience, or 9 years with a Masters, or 6 years with a PhD
• Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills
• Proven experience in the systems engineering process
• Experience in system requirements development, management, analysis, verification, or validation
• Must be a US Citizen
• CLEARANCE: A current/active US Government Secret clearance
• Must currently have SAP or must be able to obtain and maintain SAP

Responsibilities

• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements allocation to translate customer requirements into specifications using DOORS
• Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture
• Ensure system requirements, architecture, and designs integrate with program needs
• Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering artifacts
• Work with technical teams and stakeholders to mature architecture content of large programs
• Develop and incorporate requirements for the system and ensure proper representation in the model
• Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes
• Participate in Engineering Review Boards and other program reviews and boards
• Communicate technical approaches and findings at reviews and boards
• Provide cross-IPT support for Capture efforts and trade studies
• Conduct integration activities in a dedicated lab environment and coordinate with customers
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain a multi-vendor lab environment
• Resolve integration issues in a proactive, self-managed manner
