GPF Staffing is recruiting a Staff Systems Engineer for a rapidly scaling technology company building high-performance distributed infrastructure at massive scale in New York City. This on-site role leads architectural direction across distributed compute, virtualization, storage, and bare-metal infrastructure.

You will own reliability, performance, and scalability as capacity expands, partner with founders, design kernel- and filesystem-level systems, and mentor engineers while shaping

Qualifications

• Senior IC with staff-level experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record architecting and delivering production systems.
• Deep Linux/kernel understanding, virtualization, distributed storage, and bare-metal infra.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive architectural direction for infrastructure platforms operating tens of millions of VMs monthly.
• Ensure production reliability, performance, and scalability as capacity expands.
• Partner with founders to map product strategy to long-term technical roadmaps.
• Design kernel- and filesystem-level systems, including eBPF, cgroups, and namespaces.
