Job summary

Outtake inc. seeks a staff-level infrastructure generalist to set technical direction and build systems for rapid growth. You will own how data is stored, indexed, retrieved, and moved; how asynchronous work is scheduled; and how cloud compute, storage, and networking are used.

Initial role is individual contributor with potential to lead an infra team as the company scales. Responsibilities span designing distributed infra, migrating live systems, and delivering scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience operating at staff scope and leading complex projects.
• Track record designing distributed infrastructure systems.
• Experience scaling production systems with data growth.
• Deep knowledge of relational database architecture and indexing.
• Experience with high-throughput asynchronous systems.
• Experience with large-scale search and retrieval systems.
• Experience building ingestion, streaming, or batch-processing systems.
• Work across cloud infrastructure to scale data systems.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for infrastructure across databases, search and cloud architecture.
• Redesign search systems to support billions of content.
• Evolve relational DB architecture with sharding, indexing, caching.
• Migrate live systems safely and adjust deployment topology.
• Design scalable asynchronous systems for scheduling and queues.
• Build data infrastructure for high-volume ingestion and processing.
• Develop shared infrastructure services and APIs for engineers.
• Own cloud foundations including compute, storage, networking, deployment.
