Job summary

Google is seeking an experienced engineer to push power optimizations across mobile phone SOCs and collaborate with architecture, Android, and app teams to improve battery life and performance.

You will work on the Pixel System Power stack, influencing software-hardware integration and delivering efficient, high-performance silicon solutions for consumer devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in EE/CE/physics or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in development, testing, and deployment of consumer electronics/embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive power optimizations on mobile phone SOCs.
• Provide inputs to architecture teams on new SOC features to improve power.
• Analyze and optimize software across CPU, GPU, memory subsystems and connectivity.
• Develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of work experience in development, testing and deployment of consumer electronics/embedded systems.
• 3 years of experience in technical leadership.
• Experience in embedded systems, operating systems, and power processing.

Preferred qualifications:

• PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with mobile phone SOCs and subsystems including CPU, memory, GPU, multimedia, modem and wifi.
• Experience with optimizing software for power and performance improvements.
• Experience working with embedded processors, Android BSP, kernel, drivers.
• Knowledge of embedded software system design.
• Excellent communication skills.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $188000 - $274000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Drive power optimizations on mobile phone SOCs.
• Provide inputs to architecture teams on new SOC features and initiatives to improve power.
• Analyze and optimize the software across the key components of the SOC like CPU, GPU, memory subsystem and connectivity.
• Develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption. Debug and resolve battery drain issues.
• Collaborate with Android and app teams across Google to help them optimize power.
