Job summary

Google's Pixel System Power team is looking for a Staff System Power Engineer to own power and performance for mobile devices and subsystems. You will help drive power optimizations across CPU, GPU, memory, display, and connectivity, coordinating with Silicon and Software teams to deliver long battery life for Pixel devices.

You will work with Android platforms and apps teams to ensure efficiency while aligning with Google's hardware and software initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in EE/CE/Physics or related field.
  • 6 years of experience with mobile device SOCs and subsystems (CPU, memory, GPU, multimedia, modem, WiFi).
  • Experience optimizing software for power and performance.
  • Experience with embedded software system design.

Responsibilities

  • Drive power optimizations on mobile devices and subsystems (CPU, GPU, memory, display, connectivity).
  • Provide inputs to architecture teams on new device features to improve power and battery life.
  • Analyze and optimize software across device subsystems; debug battery drain issues and develop validation tools.
  • Collaborate with Android platforms, applications, and hardware teams to ensure great battery life.

  • Drive power optimizations on mobile devices.
  • Provide inputs to architecture teams on new device features and initiatives to improve power.
  • Analyze and optimize the software across the key components of all device subsystems, CPU, GPU, MCU, memory, display and connectivity.
  • Debug and resolve battery drain issues, while developing tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption.
  • Collaborate with Android and app teams across Google to help them optimize power.
