Job summary

Prosum seeks a seasoned Staff Site Reliability Engineer to lead reliability across production systems and distributed applications. You will apply DevOps, automation, and cloud expertise to improve health, scalability, and performance while partnering with software and platform teams to embed reliability throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in SRE, software engineering, systems engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or related field.
• Experience with software development, programming, or scripting in one or more modern languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, automation, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable production environments.
• Experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking, and modern app architectures.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, incident management, and reliability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and influence decisions across teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in SRE, reliability, production operations, and distributed systems across multiple teams.
• Apply software engineering, automation, and DevOps practices to improve deployment, monitoring, and recovery.
• Design and improve SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, and service health metrics.
• Develop observability solutions with monitoring, logging, tracing, and dashboards.
• Drive CI/CD, IaC, deployment automation, and configuration management improvements.
• Identify and resolve systemic production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Translate operational findings into improvements in architecture, tooling, and standards.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed reliability and disaster recovery in the lifecycle.
• Lead or participate in incident management, RCA, and blameless post-incident reviews.
• Serve as escalation point for critical incidents and reliability concerns.
• Improve on-call processes, incident response, and production readiness.
• Reduce toil through automation, scripting, and reusable tooling.
• Drive capacity planning, performance optimization, and resilience testing.
• Influence architectural and reliability strategies across applications.
