Job summary

Kong Inc. seeks a Staff Solutions Engineer to be at the center of the API and AI connectivity revolution. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor helping the world’s leading enterprises architect secure, scalable API ecosystems while navigating the agentic AI era.

You will support field sales, run POCs, lead demonstrations of API/AI governance, and mentor junior SEs. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role requiring strong communication with engineers, architects, and executives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering and/or solutions engineering in SaaS/enterprise.
• Experience owning complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
• Mentoring SEs or technical teams and leading discussions with executives.

Responsibilities

• Support field sales in mapping customer requirements to Kong solutions.
• Conduct discovery conversations and guide POCs from review to production.
• Own technical validation and stakeholder alignment across accounts.
• Deliver API/AI governance demonstrations and technical workshops.
• Collaborate with support, product, and engineering to advocate for customers.
• Mentor junior SEs and contribute to thought leadership through blogs and webinars.
