Job summary

Kong is seeking a Staff Solutions Engineer to be the technical advisor at the epicenter of the API and AI connectivity revolution. You’ll help enterprises architect secure, scalable API ecosystems and navigate the agentic AI era.

Lead multi-stakeholder deals, mentor junior SEs, run technical feasibility workshops, author technical blogs, and contribute to product direction. This role blends deep engineering rigor with executive influence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience owning complex, enterprise-level deals with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring other SEs or technical team members.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms.
• Familiar with REST and GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and API security patterns.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tooling.
• Knowledge of AI/LLM architectures and governance patterns.

Responsibilities

• Support field sales by demonstrating Kong’s API and AI connectivity platform.
• Conduct discovery conversations to map customer needs to Kong solutions.
• Lead technical validation, POCs, and stakeholder alignment.
• Own technical strategy for complex enterprise deals from qualification to close.
• Mentor junior SEs and coach on deal strategy and discovery methods.
• Create technical documentation for DevOps and services engagements.
• Deliver demonstrations of Kong’s governance capabilities and AI patterns.
• Run Technical Feasibility Workshops to assess fit for AI architectures.
