Job summary

Uber’s Test and Verification team within Developer Platform is responsible for building the verification layer that decides whether backend changes are safe to land. You will work hands-on to give humans and AI agents a clear signal on which tests matter and how to interpret failures.

This role emphasizes back-end reliability at scale, mutation testing, fault injection, and AI-assisted code verification. You will shape technical direction and mentor engineers across CI, build and product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field required.
• 8+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building and operating backend distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Build systems that measure the quality of backend tests beyond coverage.
• Design signals to tell engineers which tests matter and what a failure means.
• Develop verification for AI-generated code, including test generation and validation.
• Define evaluation criteria for agents, validators, and models with robust datasets.
• Measure trust of verification signals and explainable outcomes to humans and agents.
