Job summary

General Motors seeks a Staff Software Engineer for Validation Foundations and Acceleration in Sunnyvale, CA. You will drive behavior validation tools, build dashboards, and partner with EAI, safety, and product teams to prioritise improvements using data-driven methods.

You will implement Python-based solutions, ensure scalability for AV launches, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver reliable validation products and impactful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, software product development, or technical program management.
• Strong ability to bridge technical and product domains, translating stakeholder needs into actionable solutions.
• Proficiency in Python for prototyping and data analysis.
• Experience with developing internal customer facing front end dashboards
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with partner teams (EAI, safety, product) to align priorities and requirements.
• Use Pareto analysis and other prioritization techniques to identify and implement improvements for validation dashboards products.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define roadmaps and success metrics for behavior validation tools.
• Lead and implement technical improvements using Python and related technologies to accelerate feature development.
• Ensure that validation products are scalable, reliable, and aligned with AV launch and release decision processes.
