Job summary
Form Energy, based in Berkeley, CA, seeks a Staff Software Engineer, Test Software to lead the unified software platform powering our HIL and SIL testing ecosystems. You will drive end-to-end development from requirements to architecture, partnering with Test Infra, Electrical Engineering, Firmware and Software teams.
Relocation assistance is available. The role emphasizes building scalable testbeds, robust drivers, and intuitive interfaces to accelerate our mission.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 7+ years in software engineering with experience building HIL/SIL platforms or similar interfaces between hardware and software.
- Proficiency with Python and background in object-oriented design and software architecture.
Responsibilities
- Architect a platform enabling a single test case to run across both HIL and SIL benches.
- Contribute to requirements definition and downselection of HIL/SIL tooling.
- Develop intuitive UIs for cross‑functional teams to interact with the platform.
- Design robust device drivers for the HIL system.
- Scale the SIL cloud infrastructure to support battery simulations.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and software systems to isolate issues.
