Belcan Corporation in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with HIL/SIL expertise to lead the development of a unified platform powering hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing ecosystems. You will require a degree in CS/CE/EE and 7+ years in software engineering, with a track record building HIL/SIL platforms.

Proficiency in Python, reading schematics, and experience with CAN, SPI and UART are essential.

Qualifications

Degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent.
7+ years in software engineering with a proven HIL/SIL track record.
Proficiency in Python and object-oriented design.
Strong electrical engineering foundations; read schematics; debug hardware.
Familiarity with embedded protocols such as CAN, SPI, UART.

Responsibilities

Create new HIL and SIL testbeds across requirements, architecture, and execution.
Collaborate with Test infra, Electrical Engineering, Firmware and Software teams.
Architect a platform enabling a single test case to run across both HIL and SIL benches.
Contribute to requirements and tooling downselection for HIL/SIL.
Develop intuitive UIs for cross-functional engineering interaction with the platform.
Design robust device drivers for precise control and communication within the HIL system.
Scale the SIL cloud infrastructure to support advanced battery simulations.
Troubleshoot complex electrical and software systems using schematics and test equipment.
