Job summary

Urban Sky in Denver, CO is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own meaningful parts of our manufacturing software. You will design, build, deploy, and operate a full-stack MRP system that tracks inventory, work orders, bills of materials, quality holds, and serialized parts from receipt through final integration.

You will work directly with shop-floor operators and stakeholders, shaping architecture and growing into leadership while embracing AI-assisted development in an aerospace-regulated

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, data structures, and architecture.
• Experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate as priorities shift.
• Mentoring others and raising the bar for the team.

Responsibilities

• Own meaningful areas of our stack across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
• Lead design and implementation of projects that may span quarters.
• Work directly with operators and stakeholders—often non-engineers—to refine solutions.
• Design clean APIs and scalable data models with reliability in mind.
• Ensure observability and maintainability through tooling and monitoring.
• Leverage AI with engineering judgment to accelerate development.
