Job summary

Urban Sky is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Denver to own the software running our manufacturing operation. You will design, build, deploy, and operate a full-stack MRP system that tracks inventory, work orders, BOMs, and serialized parts from receiving to final assembly.

You’ll work directly with shop-floor operators and engineers, learning the domain quickly and expanding scope as the company grows. This is a senior, hands-on role with meaningful ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Strong fundamentals in data modeling, schema design, and SQL.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices.
• Ownership of production systems in evolving environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end systems from design through production and maintenance.
• Lead design and implementation of projects spanning quarters.
• Build APIs and services for a shop-floor, non-consumer interface.
• Collaborate with operators and stakeholders to refine solutions.
• Ensure reliability, operability, and observability in production.
