Job summary

Rad AI is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Speech platform, focusing on real-time audio capture, streaming, and delivery within a responsive React/TypeScript web app. You'll mentor engineers, collaborate with Research Scientists, Infrastructure, and Product to build a secure, HIPAA‑compliant system used by radiologists across the United States.

This role requires 7+ years in audio or multimedia software, expert TS/React and Python skills, and experience building distributed,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in audio or multimedia software.
• Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript/React and Python.
• Experience with browser audio APIs and real-time streaming.
• Distributed systems experience; remote collaboration across teams.
• Strong testing practices and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for the Speech function and set direction.
• Collaborate with researchers to move models to production.
• Build real-time audio capture and streaming in React/TypeScript.
• Design and operate Python backend services powering the speech platform.
• Improve observability and production reliability with modern tools.
• Partner with Product/UX/CS to ship features in HIPAA-compliant environment.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical direction.
