Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Spam & Abuse team. You will define architecture across detection, enforcement, and secure mobile client flows, while guiding cross-functional collaboration with product, data science, and policy teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive technical strategy, and raise the bar for reliability and security in critical registration, login, and messaging paths. Equity RSUs are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
• 9+ years of software development experience.
• Technical lead or owner of complex initiatives.
• Experience building anti-abuse or security-focused systems.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year architecture for Spam & Abuse with scalable backend systems.
• Lead cross-cutting design reviews ensuring coherent architecture.
• Translate strategy into executable roadmaps with PM and EMs.
• Mentor engineers and foster engineering excellence and ownership.
• Integrate account risk and enforcement with surface teams.
• Improve reliability, latency, and security for critical flows.
