Job summary

Huntress is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the SOC Experience team. This full-time, remote-first role focuses on building the analyst-facing SOC platform and improving analyst efficiency in a data-dense, front-end heavy environment.

You will provide technical leadership, shape architecture, and mentor engineers while delivering reliable, auditable systems in collaboration with Product, UX, and SOC stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing complex software products.
• 5+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong front-end fundamentals and experience with modern UI frameworks.
• Experience with AWS or other public cloud environments and Linux-based infrastructure.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AI coding tools, such as Claude Code.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the SOC Experience surface area: investigation and triage experience, remediation actions, queues, and customer-facing reporting.
• Lead and develop high-quality software, software designs, and architecture.
• Design analyst-facing interfaces end to end, from data model to browser, and set the standard for front-end quality in partnership with UX.
• Mentor engineers across the team to handle harder problems.
• Balance technical rigor with pragmatism and push back on risk or over‑engineering as needed.
• Partner with Product, UX, and SOC stakeholders to turn operational pain points into reliable systems.
