Job summary

Dragos seeks a Staff SDE for the Sensor Platform to drive large-scale initiatives from design to production. You will set technical direction for reliability, latency, and data fidelity across OT/ICS monitoring, collaborating with product and infrastructure teams to deliver robust sensor capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, raise the bar on documentation, tests, and performance benchmarks, and own end-to-end delivery of critical platform features in a remote-first, globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing, and debugging distributed systems software.
• Deep Rust expertise across asynchronous and concurrent programming.
• Experience leading end-to-end systems initiatives from design to production deployment.
• Strong grasp of concurrency, backpressure, and queue management.
• Experience with high-performance packet capture and Linux systems programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale Sensor Platform initiatives—high-throughput ingestion improvements, pipeline scalability, continuous capture capability, and queue management reliability.
• Own root cause analysis and postmortems for complex production issues in the capture pipeline, broker, and message processing components.
• Establish and champion standards for documentation, test harnesses, observability, and performance benchmarks across the sensor codebase.
• Translate business goals into concrete technical plans and delivery milestones with measurable outcomes.
• Identify and close gaps in observability, reliability, and developer experience; build tooling to diagnose production issues faster and ship with confidence.
• Elevate the team through mentorship, design reviews, and code reviews across experience levels.
