Job summary

Hinge Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Visits team in San Francisco. You will shape the architecture behind how every visit is booked, tracked, and acted upon across the member app, care tools, and external networks.

You will lead major multi-quarter initiatives, extend the scheduling platform, and ensure reliable, secure experiences while coaching engineers toward tech-lead roles and introducing AI-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of non-internship, full-time professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of: TypeScript, Go, React Native, or React.
• Experience as the technical lead for a project spanning multiple engineers or teams.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from ambiguity to launch: partner with product, design, clinical, and operations to shape a multi-quarter roadmap and drive cross-team initiatives.
• Extend the scheduling platform: own architecture and scalability for high-volume bookings with external networks.
• Close the loop after each visit: design encounter records that power member app, care tools, scheduling, and AI experiences.
• Bring new specialties onto one platform: ensure configuration-driven expansion and manage contracts between Visits and related teams.
• Run what you ship: ensure reliability, retire failures, and maintain security/privacy of health data.
• Raise the engineering bar: write design docs, lead reviews, adopt patterns, and explore AI across the stack.
