Job summary

Rezdy is recruiting for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Checkfront team. You will provide technical leadership across maintenance, reliability, and product development while working with product and customer-facing teams to deliver high-quality, scalable features.

You will mentor engineers, drive improvements in testability, observability, and deployment practices, and help reduce technical debt without slowing product delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a senior or staff-level software engineer on product-focused teams.
• Experience with large, mature, or complex codebases.
• Ability to drive incremental improvements that reduce risk and improve maintainability.
• Comfort balancing customer needs, business priorities, technical debt, and delivery risk.
• Strong focus on reliability, performance, testability, and operational quality.
• Ability to create technical clarity from complex systems and unclear boundaries.
• Clear, direct communication with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on maintenance, reliability, performance, and product development work.
• Partner with Product to understand requirements, constraints, and shape implementation plans.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer pain points, production issues, and risks.
• Improve delivery quality through better patterns, code reviews, and rollout practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve testability, observability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Reduce technical debt incrementally without disrupting delivery.
• Mentor other engineers through guidance, pairing, reviews, and design discussions.
• Contribute to process improvements for planning, delivery, and operations.
