Job summary

Blackpoint Cyber is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to help build and scale its threat-hunting platform. You will own end-to-end architecture across front-end, backend, and data pipelines in a fast-moving, remote environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, implement AI-assisted tooling, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, secure services on Kubernetes in AWS.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry experience delivering scalable, high-performance systems.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as React and TypeScript.
• Strong backend development with Node.js and microservices on Kubernetes.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred).
• Experience with data streaming (Kafka, Spark) and distributed ETL/batch processing.
• API design and consumption (REST/GraphQL/gRPC).
• Database design and performance tuning (SQL and NoSQL).
• CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Security best practices for APIs, data handling, and auth (OAuth, JWT).
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools; agile, fast-paced delivery.
• Ability to lead sprint planning and align teams with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver business-critical outcomes by building world-class user experiences end-to-end.
• Lead and drive projects across the stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js) on Kubernetes.
• Make architectural decisions for platform/data systems and implement Medallion Architecture patterns where relevant.
• Design and maintain data onboarding pipelines for new domains.
• Improve observability with metrics, lineage, SLAs/SLOs, and alerts.
• Optimize for performance, scale, and resiliency through design patterns.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional collaboration on complex projects.
• Communicate technical solutions to leadership and track progress.
• Evaluate and adopt AI-powered tooling to accelerate development and testing.
