Job summary

IBM is seeking software engineers at multiple levels to grow the Traffic team for Confluent Cloud. You will build and manage the networking fabric, focusing on performance, security, reliability, and cost optimization for traffic in ingress/egress of a Kafka cluster.

We look for candidates with strong distributed systems background, cloud infrastructure experience, and proficiency in C++, Go, or Python. Remote work from anywhere in the US is supported.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure and cloud networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the network data plane for Confluent Cloud.
• Lead initiatives in networking, cloud infrastructure, and multi-tenancy to deliver business impact.
• Independently drive software project execution and technically lead a team of engineers.
• Engage with open source communities and upstream projects.
• Troubleshoot complex stacks spanning clouds, microservices, containers, and virtualization.
