Google is seeking a visionary software engineer to advance RCS capabilities at scale. You will optimize the protocol stack and client architecture for billions of users across Android, iOS, and devices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years in software development in mobile systems, networks or high-performance apps.
5 years testing and launching software products.
5 years full stack development across backend and frontend.
3 years software design and architecture.
Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLMs into workflows.

Responsibilities

Profile, debug, and enhance our RCS protocol stack and client-side architecture for throughput and latency.
Design robust systems handling massive concurrency with global interoperability.
Architect and optimize high-definition video experiences across Android, iOS and devices.
Power high-res image sharing, live typing indicators, read receipts, and business messaging at scale.
Drive optimizations for fast message delivery, low latency, battery efficiency, and reliability.
