Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineer, Tools and Infrastructure, to join the RCS Video Chat Engineering Infrastructure and Operations team. You will help build scalable tooling, automate quality tracking, and ensure smooth development, test, and release cycles across product teams.

You will collaborate with engineering partners to improve code health, testing, and maintainability while enabling rapid growth of Google’s software at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years building developer tools (compilers, automated releases, code design and testing).
• Master's or PhD preferred; data structures/algorithms experience beneficial.
• Accessible technologies experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
• Review code for best practices and quality.
• Contribute to documentation and content updates.
• Triage issues and debug across hardware, network, or service operations.
