Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company is seeking a Staff Engineer, Software Engineering for an onsite role in Irvine, CA. You will build and maintain scalable platform infrastructure and services that integrate EHR and cloud applications, working across the full stack with Go, Java, React, and JavaScript.

Lead engineers, design robust APIs, and implement CI/CD pipelines while upholding high code quality and security standards in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building large-scale software applications in healthcare or related field.
• 2+ years experience in Terraform and/or CDK.
• Experience running and supporting production systems on AWS (2-3 yrs).
• Experience in leading engineers, planning and execution of deliverables.
• Experience in designing and building services with AWS.
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience in Java, React, and JavaScript.
• Strong coding practices with well-documented code.
• Knowledge of SOX, PCI, HIPAA, data protection is a plus.
• Bachelor's or master's preferred in CS/IS/Engineering or proven experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of agile software development: design, implement, deploy, and support.
• Architect and guide end-to-end systems for performance, scale, and reliability.
• Work mainly with Go, Java, React, and JavaScript.
• Develop platform SDKs and RESTful APIs.
• Plan and lead other engineers to deliver features in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop and maintain CDK scripts for infrastructure provisioning.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery and updates.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and API guides.
