Attentive is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to anchor onsite growth platforms and shape the technical strategy. You will own architectural decisions across services and APIs, collaborating with product, design, ML, and data teams to solve complex problems at scale.

You’ll lead cross-functional efforts, mentor engineers, and improve system reliability, observability, and performance while delivering high-impact customer growth features from New York.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with system-scale impact.
• Staff-level impact; drive architectural decisions across a product area.
• Proficiency in Java or TypeScript; design of distributed APIs and services.
• Strong technical communication; RFCs, design reviews, tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture for Onsite Growth platform and shared infrastructure.
• Lead cross-functional strategy with product, design, ML, and data science teams.
• Address systemic engineering risks before blockers arise.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, and user-facing capabilities at scale.
• Improve observability, resiliency, and performance for fast, reliable experiences.
• Mentor engineers, provide feedback, and elevate team skills.
• Contribute to engineering culture with principled technical leadership.
