Job summary

Davis Talent Search seeks a founding-like senior engineer in New York City to own end-to-end payment systems, APIs, and infrastructure. You will work directly with the CEO and customers, shipping production software and resolving live issues.

You will help advance Tap to Pay on mobile, EMV readiness, and certifications while growing with a lean, fast-moving team that values ownership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and operating production systems at scale.
• Startup environment with small team experience preferred.
• Experience in payments/fintech industry and transaction processing.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support production software.
• Own systems from design through production support.
• Build and operate backend services and APIs in the payment path.
• Develop and support authorization flows, transaction routing, and audit trails.
• Assist customers in integrating the SDK and troubleshooting issues.
• Debug distributed systems and resolve production incidents.
• Collaborate across backend services, APIs, infrastructure, and mobile SDK code.
• Write and maintain API documentation and specs.
• Take ownership beyond traditional boundaries with customers.
