Turo Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to enhance the scalability and reliability of its Payments platform. You will collaborate with teams to migrate existing services to a cloud-based microservices architecture and improve the overall product functionalities.
Ideal candidates will have 8–10+ years of experience, strong programming skills, and a passion for evolving payment systems in a rapidly growing start-up environment. The role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week in San Francisco.
The Payments team works with core services and other product engineering teams across the Turo eco‑system to build out new product capabilities and enhance the scalability, performance, and reliability of the services that power the Turo car rental marketplace.
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Payments team, you’ll work with a team of talented software engineers to design and build new capabilities and migrate existing payment and billing services from a monolith to a new microservices architecture designed for scale on the cloud.
Target base salary range in SanFrancisco: $182,000–$228,000annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process.
This is a hybrid role. You are expected to work in‑office three days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays). Office location: SanFrancisco, CA.
