Job summary

Ro is seeking a Staff Software Engineer/Tech Lead for the Patient Experience team to own the patient-facing platform that guides patients through their care journey. You will connect technical decisions to patient outcomes, partnering with Growth, Clinical, product, design, and data teams to build scalable, personalized experiences.

You will design architecture, drive long-term technical strategy, and deliver end-to-end systems that enable rapid iteration and measurable impact on patient

Qualifications

• Strong backend and systems design expertise.
• Experience leading technical work for consumer-facing growth experiences such as acquisition, onboarding, conversion, subscriptions, retention or renewal.
• Proficient in Python or similar language with Ro’s Python-based stack.

Responsibilities

• Translate patient and growth opportunities into technical strategy in collaboration with product and engineering.
• Lead complex backend engineering across intake, prescription flows, commerce, merchandising, subscriptions, renewals, and related experiences.
• Shape ambiguous problems from early stages using systems thinking and technical judgment.
• Elevate the team’s technical and product thinking across systems and outcomes.
• Build reusable capabilities to test, iterate, and scale new patient and growth experiences.
• Develop understanding of Ro’s business and patient journey to identify high-impact technical opportunities.
