Staff Software Engineer - Oracle Database Developer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Oracle Database Developer to work closely with a team responsible for enhancing, evolving, and supporting a large, highly-available Electricity Market Management System (MMS). The team includes power systems, database, software, and optimization engineers. The role involves leading advanced development in MMS application software design, development, testing, integration, and tuning, focusing on a cloud-based solution that supports multi-state wholesale energy markets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers, and software developers to implement and extend shared platforms and solutions.
• Convert design documents into functional applications, applying SDLC principles and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, and security best practices.
• Develop features such as web services and database queries, and optimize application performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or STEM field, with 8+ years of related experience in Oracle development.
• At least 5 years experience with Oracle 12c or higher, and 8 years programming with PL/SQL.
• Experience with advanced PL/SQL features, Oracle packages like DBMS_SCHEDULER, and diagnosing SQL performance issues.
• Proficiency with tools such as GIT, TFS, Toad for Oracle, and experience working independently and remotely.
