Reddit, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader for Onboarding to design and evolve the first-user experience. You will own backend strategies, learn from signals, and build personalization and experimentation pathways that scale for millions of newcomers.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and other platform teams to ensure reliability, velocity, and clear tradeoffs while driving data-informed decisions and growth-focused engineering culture.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience.
• Strategic partner with systems thinking.
• Mentor who helps other engineers level up.
• Data-informed with metrics-driven design.
• Experience with ranking, recommendations and personalization.
• Comfortable with growth-team ambiguity.
• Clear, transparent communication.
• Experience with ML-heavy products.

Responsibilities

• Foster and guide the technical strategy for Onboarding and shape backend architecture.
• Partner with Engineering Manager to cultivate a growth engineering mindset.
• Scale impact through collaborative engineering with Relevance, Feeds, and Notifications teams.
• Instrument, measure, and iterate with rigorous A/B testing and metrics.
• Guide cross-functional alignment with Product, Design, Data Science, and Consumer platform teams.
• Raise the bar on engineering excellence with reliable, scalable systems.
