Anthropic is seeking staff+ software engineers to advance memory and search across Claude.ai, Cowork and Claude Code. You will own memory services, indexing, retrieval and vector search while delivering user-facing experiences at scale.

You will run short, demo-driven experiments, decide what to keep based on usage data, and collaborate with product and design to shape memory—while ensuring privacy and safeguards are integral to product design.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience building memory, search, or retrieval systems.
• Experience shipping user-facing products at scale.
• Strong programming in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience defining product metrics and running experiments.
• Excellent collaboration with product, design and non-engineering partners.

Aufgaben

• Design, build and ship memory and search experiences across Claude.ai, Cowork and Claude Code, end-to-end from backend to UI.
• Run product experiments on memory and search; form hypotheses, build demos, test with real users, measure outcomes.
• Shape how memory retrieval works inside the agentic loop and how results are presented to users.
• Define and track metrics to show memory usefulness and maintain quality as the system evolves.
• Improve search relevance and recall across conversations and memories, including embeddings, hybrid retrieval and ranking.
• Collaborate with product, design, privacy, legal and safeguards to ship compliant features.
