Job summary

Anthropic is hiring Software Engineers for the Memory & Search team to own memory and search experiences across Claude.ai, Cowork, and Claude Code. You will work on backend services, model tooling, and user-facing surfaces, shipping end-to-end features with a product-driven mindset.

You will run experiments, measure real usage, and help shape how memory interacts with the user and across products, while collaborating with privacy, legal, and safeguards teams to ensure compliant, user-centered

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating user-facing products and backend services.
• Experience with agentic systems or LLM-powered products.
• Strong Python and TypeScript programming skills.
• Track record of taking a product from idea to launch.
• Experience defining product metrics and running experiments.
• Strong product judgment and communication.
• Interest in AI safety and Anthropic's mission.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship memory and search features end-to-end.
• Run product experiments on memory and search stack.
• Shape memory usage inside the agentic loop and how results are presented.
• Define and track metrics to measure memory usefulness.
• Improve search relevance and recall across conversations and memories.
• Collaborate with product, design, privacy, legal and safeguards.
• Share on-call responsibilities.
