Job summary

Verkada is seeking a senior security/engineer to build security and privacy infrastructure, architect scalable systems, and mentor engineers. You will work across security and product teams to strengthen Verkada's platform with strong cryptography and privacy controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in CS and 8+ years of coding experience, with cloud experience (AWS/GCP). You’ll join a team that values collaboration, security leadership, and onsite commitment five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer or security engineer that writes code.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud service provider and security/privacy products.

Responsibilities

• Develop security and privacy infrastructure across infra, applications, and devices.
• Architect systems to manage escalating data volumes securely without compromising performance.
• Mentor and foster the development of junior engineers.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to enhance product security.
• Define, communicate, and implement goals, priorities, and processes.
• Collaborate with the CISO to expand Verkada's security programs.
• Share security expertise via conferences, blogs, and open-source contributions.
• Work on end-to-end encryption and data encryption at rest and in use.
