Role: Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Location: San Francisco, CA (On-site)

What We're Looking For

A senior or staff-level engineer with 4–10 years of experience as an infrastructure, platform, or backend engineer, who is strong across the stack and excels at owning large product modules end to end. You should be comfortable taking an open-ended goal and shipping a product real users can adopt.

What You'll Do

• Own the infrastructure underneath our platform: workflow orchestration for long-running AI agents, containers, hosting for hundreds of thousands of apps, databases, and cloud primitives
• Run production cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) at scale, re-architecting systems that break under load
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code (CDK or Terraform) and containerized services (Docker)
• Lead features from design through architecture, data modeling, and API design to production launch
• Build core SaaS capabilities such as billing and entitlements, analytics, feature flags, and notifications
• Use frontier AI coding tools daily to move with urgency and high output

Must-Haves

• Production experience with Temporal or a comparable durable workflow orchestrator (e.g., Cadence, AWS Step Functions)
• Hands-on production cloud infrastructure experience for a product with 1M+ users
• Deep database experience: schema design, scaling, and performance tuning
• Clear, steady career growth to Senior/lead scope, with step-ups in title, scope, or company caliber over time
• Daily use of AI coding tools, with the ability to walk through your workflow

Nice to Have

• Experience building infrastructure for AI agents or ML workloads (long-running jobs, model routing, inference, or GPU orchestration)
