Job summary
Cariad, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer, HIL Design, Hardware Integration & Test Automation in Mountain View, CA. You will architect and bring up HIL benches, harnesses, ICDs, and lab automation for automotive hardware platforms.
The role requires deep hands-on expertise in HIL, embedded hardware, and cross-functional leadership to enable repeatable test execution from requirements through evidence. This role focuses on AI-enabled lab workflows and scalable test infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in HIL design or hardware bring-up.
- Experience with Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and harness documentation.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and lab infrastructure experience.
Responsibilities
- Own staff-level HIL architecture for embedded automotive hardware platforms and harnesses.
- Define scalable bench architectures and technical standards for HIL benches and lab stations.
- Lead complex board, ECU, and system bring-up across prototypes and revisions with robust debug strategies.
- Provide direction for bring-up plans, evidence, and closure criteria across teams and suppliers.
- Mentor engineers and improve lab practices to strengthen repeatability and safety.
