Illumina seeks a Staff Software Engineer to design and implement high-performance C/C++ software on Linux for real-time genomic data analysis. You will optimize pipelines, interact with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the evolution of Illumina instruments.

With 8+ years in professional software development and strong problem-solving skills, you will lead, mentor, and deliver reliable software in an agile environment. A BS/MS in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, EE, Bioinformatics, or related field required.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with C/C++, Java or C# and multi-threaded Linux software.

Responsibilities

• Define software architecture solutions for high-performance signal processing pipelines.
• Design, develop, debug, and integrate C/C++ software on Linux for multi-threaded applications.
• Optimize and accelerate software executed on Illumina instruments.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics, instrument design, test and quality teams in an agile environment.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate new tech for platform development.
