Job summary

Google in Mountain View, CA is seeking a seasoned software engineer specializing in GenAI to join the Content and GenAI Exploration team. You will develop and deploy GenAI-based content understanding and content generation features across Google surfaces, partnering with Research, Search, and Ads teams to push frontier AI capabilities.

You will lead innovation from research to product, align with roadmaps, and help scale AI-powered content experiences for billions of users worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of software development experience.
• 5 years testing, launching software products, and 3 years in design & architecture.
• 5 years leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure.
• 2 years experience with GenAI techniques (LLMs, Multi-Modal, LVMs) or related concepts.

• Develop and deploy GenAI technology to empower Content understanding and GenAI Content framework.
• Conduct applied research on new GenAI techniques to explore Content Experience and Direction.
• Collaborate with Research, Search, Ads engineers to integrate GenAI into Content products and services.
• Contribute to goals and roadmaps of Search Content Platform's next generation.
• Support holistic content modeling and infrastructure for consistent downstream experiences.

• 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

Moreover, in this up-to-discovery new AI era, we bridge AI research and product execution to discover GenAI features and lead innovative content product strategies.
