Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking an experienced software engineer in the United States to advance the Waymo Driver platform. You will design algorithms, build backend systems in C++ and Python, and contribute to large-scale data analytics that optimize fleet operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, evaluate system performance, and own mission-critical tools for continuous optimization. This full-time role offers a competitive salary, bonus eligibility, equity, and comprehensive

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of direct coding experience.
Experience with backend coding languages: C++, Python.
Professional experience building and analyzing quantitative software systems such as those involving algorithmic optimization, ML, or large-scale data analytics.

Responsibilities

Algorithm development, system design, and software implementation for optimization and fleet management.
Instrument systems and analyze complex datasets to understand behaviors and evaluate hypotheses.
Evaluate and reason about optimization and forecasting system performance and interactions with other systems.
Build, evolve, own, and operate mission-critical tools for continuous optimization of fleet operations.
Collaborate with Depot Operations, Product, UX, Data Science, and other Engineering teams to improve automated systems and processes.
