Job summary

Unity Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Feature Platform to own end-to-end data pipelines and feature datasets for ads, ML, and analytics. You will build scalable batch and streaming systems, drive correctness, and partner with ML, backend, and product teams to deliver production-grade infrastructure.

You will focus on reliability, observability, and performance at scale, shaping best practices and ensuring compliance with SLAs while enabling offline training and online

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Hands-on experience building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Java, SQL or similar.
• Familiarity with Spark or Flink in batch and streaming modes and performance tuning.
• Understanding offline data systems in relation to online serving layers and feature stores.
• Experience with cloud-native environments, containers, Kubernetes, and workflow tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and curated datasets powering ads optimization and ML.
• Own end-to-end offline data flows from ingestion to feature-ready datasets with high accuracy and SLA.
• Develop and maintain large-scale batch and streaming systems with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Contribute to a Feature Store platform and integrate with high-throughput online serving layers.
• Translate product and monetization logic into robust, extensible infrastructure.
• Advise on observability, testing frameworks, and engineering best practices.
